So, I have not posted at all this summer. Things have been very busy in the non-gaming part of life.
My wife and her sister moved to where I am, so I rented a 3 bedroom apartment.
I sold my house in Michigan.
I bought a house in Illinois.
We moved into the new house. (That makes me tired just typing it.)
So, we are settling into the new house.
And look what it came with! An old ping-pong table and a room to use it in.... :-O
Now what could I use that for? I don't play ping-pong. Its a large table, so a waste as a desk.
Hmm. I will have to think on that.
As for gaming, I have continued to play DBA at JFF aslmost every week. (Just For Fun). With the occasional game of Impetus on the weekends.
my talent for snatch defeat from the jaws of victory continues. I think I may start tracking this to see how bad it really is.
Plans for this fall consist of setting up the gaming room in the new house. :-D
getting back to some of the miniature projects that I am behind on. Playing as much DBA and Impetus as possible and maybe trying to go to Fall-In. We will see.

Little Wars 2011
Went to Little Wars 2011. Attached is a slideshow of some of the game tables.
The con was all in one room, including the dealers area. This usually means that the sound level would be high, but it was not bad.
I was unable to play any games. The DBA tournament was cancelled, but I knew that before going. The rest was just scheduling and me.
Shopping was good, but a couple of the vendors did not come. The T-shirt vendor had some good shirts.
I bought a bunch of 15mm buildings from the The Building Authority. Nothing like a sale to get me to spend money. ;-)
I will be going to this con next year.

The last quarter - 2010
This is a post I wrote in January and did not post, not sure why, so here it is:
So, What Have I been up to since the last post in September?
Well, shortly after that post I found a Warhammer 40K army for sale on eBay that I could not pass up. I have been thinking about getting into 40K for a while. One reason has been the number of players in the area. More players, more chances to play. My goal for gaming has been to play once a week, which has been very difficult to achieve. With the addition of 40K to my "current games played" list I have been able to play at least 3 times a month. Not quite once a week, but close.
Then I was able to get a DBA group started. One of the historical players wanted to get into DBA, so we started meeting on Wednesdays to play DBA. This has grown into 4 players regularly playing. This has highlighted the fact that my Swiss army is still milling around waiting for paint. After this started I have been able to play DBA once a week and 40K once every other week.
As for painting, I have been hard at work expanding the 40K army. I now understand why 40K miniatures are called "plastic crack". You always need one more box of something and it is expensive. Games Workshop has figured out a good business model along with a decent game system that keeps people buying and playing. And of course you add in eBay and it is very easy to end up with even more mini's waiting to be painted...
This does not mean that other projects have been ignored. It just means that I have focused on 40K and only poked at the other stuff.
The ships for the 1812 battle have seen some progress, mainly with more of them being prepared for painting and some painting done. The Swiss army has really not seen much work. But I have been able to add a commander and a heavy support figure to the 40K army.

Here is the Ann Arbor Area Historical Miniature Gaming Group at the annual New Years Eve Dinner.
We went to the Smoke House Blues restaurant in Ypsilanti.
The food was acceptable but the company was great!
We had a lot of fun, and got to meet some of the families of our fellow gamers.
Have a Happy New Year!
